I recently visited Hockley Valley Resort for a wedding, and while the scenery and amenities offer great potential, my experience was marred by service issues and inconsistencies in the dining options. The room I stayed in was quite small and lacked basic features, which left me feeling underwhelmed considering the pricing. Overall, while there are some positives, the service and attention to detail definitely need improvement.

Rooms
5.0
The room was very small and basic, which was surprising given the rate charged. It lacked a bar fridge, and the service cleaning was not until late in the day.
Service
5.0
Service was inattentive, and we often had to serve ourselves coffee and clear our own tables. There were moments of good interaction, but overall, it felt like they were overwhelmed.
Location
8.0
The resort is nestled in the hills and offers a beautiful, quiet atmosphere, but due to its size, the pool area can become quite noisy with kids.
Dining
6.0
Food options varied; some dishes like the calamari were enjoyable, but the overall dining experience fell short with service delays and a lack of variety.
Facilities
7.0
Facilities including the pool area were decent with good seating options, but the lack of luggage carts during check-out was frustrating given the number of guests.

Hockley Valley Resort is an inviting getaway just north of Mississauga, perfect for a relaxing stay. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, offering lovely views, but there are some cleanliness issues. The dining experience was mixed, with a solid breakfast but some overpriced menu items not meeting expectations. Overall, it’s a charming place to visit, especially for special occasions, though improvements in service and dining quality could enhance the experience.

The service was somewhat inconsistent; while some staff members were friendly and attentive, I did encounter delays, especially at breakfast, where I had to look for my own coffee.
Location
8.0
The location is tranquil and offers a lovely ambiance, perfect for a relaxing escape; however, the area around some facilities was somewhat unkempt.
Dining
6.0
The breakfast buffet was quite nice with a variety of options, including pastries and smoked salmon, but the restaurant's a la carte offerings seemed overpriced for the quality delivered.
Facilities
7.0
The resort has great facilities, including a pool and beautiful grounds, though the pool itself was quite cold during my visit.

I had a mixed experience at this resort. The environment is beautiful, and the amenities such as the outdoor fires and complimentary hot chocolate were lovely touches. However, I faced significant issues with cleanliness and service that left me disappointed. While the surrounding area is fun for families, the hotel itself needs better management, especially for special occasions.

Rooms

The executive suite we booked had a nice layout and was spacious, but unfortunately, the Jacuzzi wasn't clean and had visible mold, which was quite off-putting.
Service
5.0
Service was lacking; it took too long for maintenance to respond to our request about the Jacuzzi, and the front desk staff didn't seem to care when we finally brought our concerns in person.
Location
8.0
The resort is set in a beautiful area, just a short drive from Orangeville, which offers various restaurants and amenities, making it quite convenient for visitors.
Dining
6.0
Dining options were decent, with a good buffet variety, though the timing felt early for breakfast. We enjoyed our meals but nothing stood out significantly.
Facilities
5.0
The resort had some great facilities, like the ski hills and spa services, but the persistent sewage smell in certain areas really detracted from the experience.

My stay at this hotel started under disappointing circumstances, particularly due to poor service and maintenance issues. Despite enjoying the beautiful golf course and decent dining options, my overall experience was marred by rude management and worn-out furniture. While the hotel has potential, it fell short on delivering the luxury and value expected for the price we paid.

Rooms
5.0
The suite we stayed in was quite shabby and not well-maintained. The bed base even collapsed during our stay, which was unacceptable.
Service
5.0
The management team was rude and unhelpful, which really affected our experience. However, some staff members were friendly and tried to accommodate us.

Dining

The food options were decent, and we enjoyed the dining experience overall, but the service felt inconsistent.
Facilities

The hotel's facilities, including the golf course, were enjoyable, but other areas felt overcrowded and not well-planned.

We had a wonderful time at the resort with the family. The location was perfect with so many activities for the kids, and the breakfast was a highlight for all of us. However, there was an issue with the refreshment cart on the golf course, which was disappointing during the hot weather. Overall, it was great value for money, and we are already planning our next visit!

Rooms
7.0
The rooms were extra clean and ready upon our arrival, but they could use some updates as the decor felt a bit dated.
Service
9.0
The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed.
Location
9.0
The resort was in a great spot, surrounded by beautiful scenery and convenient for both skiing and golfing.
Dining
7.0
Breakfast was delicious with a variety of options, and we enjoyed our meals at the restaurant, but the lunch buffet fell short of expectations.
Facilities
8.0
The facilities were a lot of fun, especially the pool and activities for the kids. However, the golf experience was let down by the lack of a timely refreshment cart.
